RELEASE

(L)ESTE

The album (L)ESTE is the ninth authorial work of accordionist Alejandro Brittes. It is a crossover between his cradle rhythm, Chamamé, with baroque music through the arrangements of Brittes and harpsichordist Fernando Cordella, executed by exquisite orchestration between typical Chamamé instruments in dialogue with baroque instruments. (L)ESTE is energy, experience and connection with the musical history here in the south of Latin America, an unprecedented work, being the first to be released in South America in this style.

El viento y las hojas

The album "El viento y las hojas" is composed of thirteen instrumental songs, mostly of his own authorship, but there is also a song composed by Brazilian accordionist Bebe Kramer called "Hermanos Flores", which Alejandro decides to record, as it is Kramer's tribute to Nini and Rudi Flores; Nini was Alejandro's teacher at the beginning of his accordion studies, thus, Alejandro also pays tribute to his master.

Herencia Chamamecera

The album, as the name says, Herencia Chamamecera, is a rescue of how Chamamé was played in the years 40 to 70 of the 20th century. Alejandro, in this album, invites two great chamamecero names who played with icons of the old guard of the rhythm, such as Jorge Toloza who was singer of Ernesto Montiel's group, Damásio Esquivel and Abelardo Dimotta, and Luis Santa Cruz, who played bandoneón with Roberto Galarza, Julio Luján, Ramona Galarza and Emílio Chamorro.

A la luz del candil

The album is a tribute to his grandmother, who was Guarani; possibly Mbyá from Santo Tomé, ancient colonial Jesuit Reduction. Candil is a type of oil lamp, and its light was the only one that illuminated the clay and straw "casíta" away from urban noise.

Single La Colorada

We can say that this song is a tribute. It is a chamamé dedicated to his accordion, "The Red One". Lara, as she is intimately called, was given to Alejandro when he was only 3 years old by the Argentine accordionist Fito Ledesma, according to "Uncle Fito" as Alejandro calls him to this day, perceived that he would be an accordionist very young. With this accordion, famous Chamamés were composed such as the song, El guazuncho by Ernesto Montiel and Fito Ledesma. It is an instrument that is 75 years old, and yet, accompanies Alejandro's dreams, and it is in it that he spreads all his emotion that is transformed into melody and arrangements.
